“Odd Society Spirits is a small-batch craft distillery in the heart of East Vancouver and Cause+Affect was responsible for its entire brand including naming, logo, brand story and website as well as the distillery and tasting lounge interior design and individual product naming and packaging design along with copywriting.

East Van Vodka is the first spirit distilled by Odd Society, which opened its doors for business on Powell Street at the foot of Commercial Drive in late October 2014.”

“Cause+Affect designed the East Van Vodka label around a fantastical portrait of ‘Cornelius’ the owl sourced from East Vancouver artist Shwa Keirstead. The label copy was written to evoke the hardworking, creative spirit of East Vancouver and to invite you to join the Odd Society as you are, no matter what your quirks might be.”

“We designed East Van Vodka to stand out,” says Steven Cox, Creative Director of Cause+Affect. “Most vodka labels give off airs of subtlety or blend into the background, much like the spirits themselves, but we wanted East Van Vodka to exhibit a unique character that matches its namesake community and to represent the unusual depth behind the product itself.”

“Crafted in small batches from BC-grown malted barley, East Van Vodka packs an actual flavour profile unlike most vodkas,” Steven Cox say. “It doesn’t disappear into a cocktail, it defines it, so we didn’t want it to disappear on a shelf next to its mass produced rivals”

“lg2boutique pulls off a coup for the new Boris Vodka.

Boris once again expanded its family of products with an entry into the world of spirits. The brand new product, a Quebec-made vodka, can be found on SAQ shelves, a first for the Boris brand, whose products had only been available in supermarkets and convenience stores until then.”

“lg2boutique faced two challenges: introduce the new Boris Vodka and then make it consumers’ preferred choice among all the competitive offerings available at the SAQ. To achieve this, the brand atelier drew fully on Boris’s audacious and maverick DNA. The defiant crack resonates with the character’s rebelliousness and dissent as he escapes – a powerful beacon of freedom.

A clean, slender, satiny look echoes the purity of this plant-based vodka. The new bottle was honoured with Gold at the Gaïa Awards, which recognize excellence and innovation in the food packaging industry, in the Wine, Cider and Spirits category.”

“The Viscova Vodka package is inspired by the renowned Polish Winged Hussars, the elite Polish Calvary unit of the 16th to 18th centuries. The clean black label shows an illustrated image of a proud, mounted winged Hussar with a traditional long lance.

John and Steve Vissotzky, two brothers of Polish descent, founded Double V Distillery in 2009, and make the traditional small batch Viscova Vodka in copper stills in Battle Ground, Wash. The brand name and label graphic pay homage to the ancestral roots of the two brothers.

The label was screen-printed to give the bottle a clean, streamlined aesthetic. The black-on-clear look and unique shape of the bottle were designed to standout on the crowded vodka shelves of liquor and grocery stores.

Sasquatch’s internal team on the project consisted of Creative Director Ben Jenkins, who also served as copywriter, and Senior Design Director Kristin Casaletto, who designed and illustrated the label.”

“Evil Spirits is a new premium spirits line that is painstakingly crafted to be sinfully enjoyed. St. Bernadine was tasked with package design and a media kit for the launch.

Evil Spirits Vodka is the product of a distilling craft so refined it must have been exchanged for diabolical favours. St. Bernadine extended this brand promise through every detail of the design language. Custom word mark? Evil. Spirit renderings in matte varnish? Evil. Recipe card? Evil. Ouiji board with commemorative cast pewter planchette? Evil. It’s time to succumb to the guilty pleasure of Evil Spirits.”

“Hangar 1 is made in California using artisanal methods including fresh fruit infusions and distillation in Holstein Stills.  It is this meticulous and artisanal process that inspired Hangar One’s newest packaging line, featuring an apothecary-style bottle with embossed measurements along the side and a black stopper cap- reminiscent of a measuring chemistry beaker.

While the scientific design of the bottle lends itself to another era, the sleek shape and unique look render it decidedly more modern.

The textured labels are all printed in a distinctive design, giving it a crafted feel with a small story about each flavor variety.  The labels also feature an embossed aircraft logo along with hand-drawn visuals, including fruit used, for each offering.”

“The most popular vodka in Lithuania ‘Lithuanian Vodka’ amazes us all again with their extraordinary design. This time it is the gold-shining limited edition ‘Lithuanian Vodka – Black Edition’, which was introduced 2011 at the end of December. Lithuanian design agency Studija Creata was inspired by Lithuania’s history and national heritage. Rhombus and herringbones, combined from little squares, are very common patterns in Lithuanian folk art. Although reference to these national motifs gained more modern forms – mysterious past reflections were transformed into modern art.”

Designed by Cartils | Country: United Kingdom

Cartils, one of the world’s first branding and packaging design agencies, has developed a limited edition for DANZKA Vodka. The premium vodka brand’s new bottle will be available to travel retail from October 2011 and underlines Cartils’ track-record for creating effective special edition designs for the beverage sector.

Cartils was asked by DANZKA, owned by Bélvèdere Scandinavia A/S, to reinforce the vodka brand’s Danish roots with the new limited edition design. Cartils’ design solution was a clean brand presentation that, combined with a high level of refinement, offers the brand a bold and premium feel. In acknowledgement of DANZKA’s strong local heritage, the design concentrates on the image of the Danish flag, creating impact while expressing the brand’s iconic Danish style.

Well-known for its aluminium packaging and minimalistic design approach, DANZKA has become an easily recognizable style icon among the Bélvèdere portfolio of brands. Alongside its focus on visibility, heritage and stopping power, the brief for Cartils was to create a limited edition that would spark new interest around the brand as well as arouse curiosity and desire.

“DANZKA’s aluminium bottle provided us with a unique and exciting canvas for this limited edition design. We approached the design work with focus on typical Scandinavian design values such as simplicity, minimalism and functionality, which we feel the DANZKA brand is an expression of. The result is a collectible limited edition that we believe will have strong consumer appeal in travel retail outlets across the globe.”, said Gaston van de Laar, Group Director of Client Services at Cartils.

Designed by LT Identity | Country: Lithuania

“The special edition of “Lithuanian Vodka Gold” designed with modern ethnographical symbols is an unexpected link between yesterday and today. The old ethnographical symbols – oak leaves and lily flowers – have been revived. Lilies are associated with femininity. This symbol is often seen woven into compositions of the tree of life on dower chests. In the Lithuanian folklore the oak is associated with masculinity, strength and courage. From ancient times warriors would be presented with crowns of oak leaves, and now they are given to winners of sports competitions. Therefore the female and male elements are intertwined in the design, while the Lithuanian spirit is emphasised by the colours of the Lithuanian flag – yellow, green and red.”
